4 Days Tour From Fes To Marrakech Via Merzouga Desert
Itinerary tour from Fes to Marrakech:
Day 1: Fez – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
We start our tour from Fes to Marrakech with a drive into the Atlas Mountains, pausing along the way to see the villages of Ifrane. Here, we’ll get the chance to explore the well-known cedar forest, which is home to the Berber apes.
Before heading for the Atlas Mountains and amusing ones’ ourselves with the spectacular views of the Midelt landscapes along the route, we will have the opportunity to eat lunch. We will then arrive at the Ziz Valley after traveling via the Atlas Mountains. The next stop is Merzouga, where we will stay the night in a neighborhood Riad.
Day 2: Merzouga desert tour and camel trekking
On the second day of our tour from Fes to Marrakech, we’ll take a tour of the wilderness area near the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. The nomadic lifestyle and the stunning contrast of the desert will be on display for you to observe. We’ll go to the ebony village of Khamlia and enjoy some Gnawa music there. In the historic capital of Rissani, we will have a classic Berber pizza for lunch. We’ll spend the evening in the desert camp after riding on camelback in the late afternoon to see the sunset over the sand dunes. In the magnificent Sahara desert, we will enjoy a classic Tagine meal, savor some delectable local mint tea, and listen to some unique Berber music while sitting around a campfire and admiring the stars and the rising moon.
Day 3: Merzouga – Dades Gorges
To capture the sunrise, we’ll get an early start. Then, we’ll check into a hotel for breakfast and a chance to clean up before moving on to Ouarzazate. We’ll stop at the Berber communities along the road and the Todra and Dades Gorge. In the Dades Valley, we’ll spend the night in a neighborhood motel.
Day 4: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazatte – Marrakech
Following breakfast, we’ll carry on our journey toward Ouarzazate through the Route des Mille Kasbahs (fortresses), pausing in Kalaat Mgouna, the heart of the Valley of Roses, which is well-known for its yearly Rose Festival.
Our next stop is the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a Unesco World Heritage site that has served as a filmmaking location for numerous Hollywood productions, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and the renowned HBO series Game of Thrones.
The remainder of our journey will be spent in Marrakesh, reached by the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass. End of the tour from Fes to Marrakech.
