11 Days Imperial Cities tour, Desert & cost from tangier

ITINERARY of the imperial cities tour from north morocco:

Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen

We will begin our imperial cities tour by traveling past Tetouan and through the Rif Mountains. In order for you to fully appreciate the breathtaking view of the surroundings, we will have a break in Chefchaouen, which is located at the foot of the Rif mountains. The medina at Chefchaouen, which was once a part of “Spanish Morocco,” is heavily influenced by Spanish architecture. Artisanal stores in bright, odd colors line the perimeter of its central square. Additionally, there are numerous rooftop cafes and eateries there, many of which are reachable from your riad, where you may spend the rest of the evening while taking in the lovely breeze and stunning surroundings.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Fes (imperial cities tour)

We travel to Volubilis after a sumptuous breakfast, traveling through Ouazan and other Rif settlements. Before concluding the day in Fes, we will see the Roman ruins at Volubilis and learn about Moroccan history. As we continue to Meknes, we will stop for lunch and visit Bab el Mansour, the Moulay Ismail shrine, and the historic walls of the medina. Later on in the day, we’ll make our way to Fes where we’ll spend the night.

Day 3: Exploring Fes – guided tour of the city

The imperial cities tour is incomplete without visiting Fes. We will start the day by strolling around the ancient Moroccan city’s narrow lanes and crowded streets. We’ll begin our sightseeing at the entrance to the Royal Palace before proceeding on to the Jewish Quarter, where the first Mellah ever built in Morocco was built in the sixteenth century. We’ll make sure you see all the areas that are noteworthy historically and culturally, including Al Qaraouine, the area’s famed and oldest university. We will also visit the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, the Attarine Museum, and the Tanneries. After lunch, you’ll visit a number of cooperatives before taking in an incredible aerial perspective of the entire Medina of Fes.

Day 4: Fes – Merzouga desert

From the imperial cities tour to the desert. The day begins with a trip to the Atlas Mountains, where we will stop in the town of Ifrane and have the opportunity to explore the well-known cedar forest, which is home to the Berber apes. We’ll stop for pictures and fresh mint tea at the Ziz Gorge before continuing on to Midelt over the Tiz Ntalghamt Mountain Pass. We next arrive at our campground, where we will spend the night, after leaving for Merzouga.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorges (desert tour & imperial cities tour)

On the second day in the desert, we will wake up and head to a nearby hotel so you can get dressed and enjoy a wonderful breakfast before we depart for Ouarzazate. On the way to the Todra and Dades Gorges, we’ll make stops at Berber villages. We’ll stop at a nearby hotel at the Dades Gorge where we’ll spend the night and have a free dinner.

Day 6: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou

After morning tea, we’ll continue toward Ouarzazate along the Route des Mille Kasbahs (fortresses), stopping in Kalaat Mgouna, the valley’s epicenter and site of the famous Rose Festival every year. Then, we will travel to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has been used as a filming location for many movies and television shows, including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and the HBO series Game of Thrones.

Day 7: Ait Benhaddou – Essaouira

We will take the Tizi-n-Tichka Mountain Pass from Marrakech to Essaouira, dubbed the Pearl of the Atlantic, after breakfast. The sun setting over the city from the Murallas is a must-do activity, so we leave after settling into a neighborhood riad in the late afternoon. After enjoying the freshest fish in the city for dinner, we’ll take a calm twilight stroll through the neighborhood.

Day 8: Essaouira guided tour

The historical Mogador, to which the Portuguese gave its name to, will be available for you to tour. Its medina is regarded as one of the most beautiful coastal regions in the Atlantic, a canvas of blue and white bordered by long beaches and the ancient citadel walls from the Portuguese colonial era. Tonight, we’ll spend the night at a nearby riad.

Day 9: Essaouira – Marrakesh

Continuing our imperial cities tour after lunch at the harbor, we won’t stop very often on the trip to Marrakesh and will spend the night at a modest hotel or riad.

Day 10: Marrakesh Guided Tour

On that day of our imperial cities tour, a tour of Marrakech will be arranged for us. The key attractions of the city, such as the well-known Jamma el-Fna Square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums, will be seen by you.
